Quantock Lakes Wedding Photography – Alice & Jack

Every photographer has a venue bucket list and Quantock Lakes has always been up there as a Somerset Wedding Photographer as it just on the boundary to Devon which is another area I love to travel to. So when Alice and Jack dropped me a message about their big day I was already excited that I get to work with them and watch them get married as they are local friends, but to top if off they chose Quantock Lakes. On the day itself I got to work with some amazing suppliers too, which makes everything that much better especially Andy from Unionvideo.

A few weeks before the wedding, they opted for an engagement shoot (see if you can spot them in my portfolio) to get used to having cameras pointed at them; well more so for Jack as Alice used to work at Disneyland Paris with her maid of honour as the characters, which I would love to share some of those photos they showed us especially Maleficient but lets keep on track with their gorgeous wedding photos are instead as thats why you’re reading this right?

As it was Autumnal wedding in October, the expectation was for rain and wind, but it was far from that. A little shower in the afternoon was all we had, followed by a whole day of dry sunshine to celebrate their marriage, and in the evening before food they have the most beautiful sunset as as us photographers call it, golden hour. To top it off, Alices Morilee dress really stole the show especially in these shots, but it wasn’t all portraits about the bride and groom honest. All day long there was laughter, drinks, good food, smoke grenades, confetti cannons, lots of dancing and just being happy to be back together and seeing loved ones after so long with all the past restrictions in the past 24 months nearly.

And what I really love about weddings is I really get to see the true side of my couples and how much these days mean to them and all their guests. Im sure you’ll be able to see in the photos below how emotional it was at times, but as a supplier to watch it and capture these moments, its a good thing we have cameras to hide behind as seeing Jack and Alice get teary during the ceremony and the speeches was touching. Sooo on that note, grab a coffee, maybe some cake and spend some time browsing the photos below and if you’ve made it this far thank you so much for your support as I know time is short and we all lead busy lifes.

What a superstar! Working with Ryan during our wedding journey was fantastic from start to finish. We opted for an engagement shoot in the late summer which really helped prepare us for how Ryan works to get those effortless shots. Throughout the entire process, Ryan was on hand to answer any questions and support our visions of the day.

On the special day, Ryan really felt part of our Wedding party and his amazing talent is evident throughout our beautiful photos. Ryan knows exactly what it takes to get fantastic photos whilst making us feel completely at ease. Most of the time we forgot we were in front of a camera which therefore made the output natural. We couldn’t be happier with our photos as they capture the day perfectly. Thank you Ryan
