Lydia and Ross, St Audries Park, Somerset

Its been at least six years since I last visited St Audries Park for a wedding but I have never been as a somerset wedding photographer so I was very keen to head back and capture Lydia and Ross’s wedding. And considering this amazing summer England is currently having it was beauty! The venue is still amazing everywhere you look, from the beautiful orangery, the deer in the field, to the grand music hall, it is as stunning as I remembered. And it was made better with the help from Courtney, their wedding coordinator who made sure everything run super smooth on the day for everyone, just like peanut butter!

Ross and Lydia first met in Singapore which is where Lydia and her family originate from, and since then its been a whirlwind romance, travelling the world together and recently getting married twice, the first time in Singapore with Lydia’s larger family and friends over there, and then back to the UK for part 2,  which I was kindly asked to capture, and I’m so glad they chose me out of all the other amazing photographers there are.

The day was another scorcher; enduring the summer weather so far for another wedding season like last years, so inevitably the shorts came on and lots of water was consumed throughout the day. I can’t count how many times I was asked if I wanted a pint by their guests too so thank you to them but water will do for now, after the 100,000,000 steps I’ve done haha. Everyone made the day amazing for Lydia and Ross, and made me feel welcome from the moment I pulled up to the carpark early in the morning to capture all the bridal prep shots with Midiha working her magic with her makeup brushes. Lydia wore 2 gowns for this wedding being from Singapore, unlike the 4 she wore back for their first wedding. She started with the traditional english white dress made by Monique L’Huillier which was beautiful, and some spiked Valentino heels to finish the look, and then changed in the evening into one of her traditional Chinese dresses before heading out into the wheat fields for some intimate snaps.

Instead of the church up the road, Lydia and Ross opted for the Orangery for their celebration and because they were already married they booked the lovely Marianne to run the ceremony which was lovely, HOT but lovely. My favourite part of the day was Lydia and Ross’s surprise firework show before I headed home. Ross’s dad Colin had phoned me a few weeks prior and asked if I would stay later, and of course I did. I hope the photos do it justice!

Thank you to Lydia and Ross for choosing me again; it was a real pleasure to capture their second wedding day but this time in the UK, and what a great UK wedding it was.
