So to start off the wedding season this year I was treated to a new venue which has been on my to do list for quite some time. It was my first time visiting Orchardleigh House near Frome, and after hearing so many great things about the venue, it definitely lived upto its reputation. And to make things even better, the sun was shining all day long despite it being the middle of February.
Lets kick things off by talking about the morning of the day. After speaking on the phone with Chloe the night before, I arrived at the venue bright and early to find no one there, so I took the opportunity to wander around the grounds, get my bearings and some inspiration ready for the day ahead. Chloe soon arrived though with some of her family ready to kick start the long list of hair and make up needed for the big day. A few hours went by like this leading up to the ceremony, and after the dress was on, guests arriving and flowers in hand, Chloe and her father were walking down the stairs ready to walk the aisle. At this stage Lewis was waiting at the front with his best man (and brother) by his side keeping him calm and content before the music started. Half hour later, THEY WERE MARRIED!
Straight after the ceremony, we shot all of the formals and then I had 20 minutes spare to get shots of the couple by themselves. Both Chloe and Lewis are full of energy, and you can really tell they are in Love and it was a treat to share those moments with them. Without indulging too much, they rocked the camera and we got some amazing photos within the grounds of this amazing venue.
After that, the speeches started, the food was eaten, a little film viewing took place (you’ll know which photos I’m on about), the first dance happened and then the final photo was shot. All I can say is make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom for the last photo of the night as it might just be one of my favourites out of 5 or so years of shooting weddings.
A massive congratulations to them once again. Enjoy Mauritius guys, I’ll see you when you get back!
